Last bumble bee of Indian summer?

Bumble bees are usually hard to photograph: they move fast from flower to flower as they make their bumbling sound, then zigzag into the distance with a distinctive bizz whizz.

This one was easier to shot because the day was a little colder so it was moving a little slower than usual.

Still, its thick black coat means it is out and about when most other bees aren't. This makes sense. A bumble bee's furry pelt is adapted to the tundra.
