British bees rock

Photos and text by Sarah Phelan

As I sit in my mother's garden in England, I notice way more varieties of bumble bees compared to California.
And that the  British bumbles are very attracted to some tiny petaled bright blue wildflowers, this year.
Meanwhile, the British honey bees are crazy for these shiny-petaled yellow flowers. My mother  isn't sure what these flowers are called, other than they are weeds she hasn't been able to tend to this summer, because she's a bit poorly. But clearly the bees love them and that brings my mother great joy as we share a cup of tea in a rare but welcome heat wave.
