This is what a bumble bee's nest looks like

This is a fragment of a bumble bee nest that my neighbor gave me.

Bumble bee queens build their nests inside tree cavities or burrows that rodents have abandoned. But this one set up her nest under a dresser my neighbor left standing beneath the trees in his yard.

My neighbor says when he moved the dresser this summer, he caused a stir.

"The swarm flew up, and I flew inside!" he said.
